500ml of low fat milk

2 tbsp of oat bran or wheat germ

Method:

Put the bananas into a food processor or blender. Add the yoghurt, milk, bran or wheat germ, and nutmeg. Process or blend until smooth then pour into chilled glasses and serve.

Mixed Berry Smoothie

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: Nil

Serves: 2

Ingredients:

150g of mixed low GI fruits of your choice (strawberries, blackberries, peach, blueberries)

60g low fat vanilla yoghurt

1 tbsp malted milk powder

2 tsp of oat bran or wheat germ

1 egg (this is optional)

Method:

Place the mixed berries in a food processor or blender. Add the yoghurt, milk, bran or wheat germ and egg. Process or blend until combined then pour into chilled glasses and serve.

Mocha Smoothie

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: Nil

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

4 cups of low fat milk

1 cup of low fat chocolate mousse

1 cup of low fat chocolate ice cream

1 tbsp instant coffee granules

½ tsp vanilla essence

Method:

Process or blend all the ingredients until smooth. Pour into chilled glasses and serve.
